Candied Maple Salmon
- 2 4 oz salmon fillets
- 1/3 Cup brown sugar
- 1/3 Cup Maple Syrup
- Pinch of water
Sear salmon fillets on medium high heat. Boil brown sugar, water and maple until it foams up nice and thick. Place previously seared and season salmon filet into pan and gently spoon maple mixture over the salmon-off the heat. Allow to cool to room temperature to let the candy glaze harden. Maple Almond Brussels Sprouts
- ¼ Cup toasted almonds
- 4 Tbsp butter
- 8 Tbsp Maple Syrup
- 12 Brussels sprouts
Par boil Brussels sprouts until almost tender. Sauté Brussels sprouts in butter. Drizzle maple syrup and sprinkle almonds over to finish. Credit: Select Nova Scotia
Maple Avocado Frosting
- 2 Ripe avocados, peeled & pitted
- ½ Cup Maple Syrup
- ½ Cup cocoa powder
- 2 Tbsp coconut oil
- 1 Tsp vanilla extract
- ½ Tsp salt
Blend all ingredients together in a food processor until smooth. Store in refrigerator until ready to use.
Slow Cooker Baked Beans With Maple Syrup
- 4 Cups dry white beans or Navy beans
- Water, for soaking
- 6 Cups cold water (for cooking)
- 1 Cup Maple Syrup
- ½ Cup ketchup
- ½ lb streaky salted pork, rind removed and diced
- 2 Onions, coarsely chopped
- 1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 Tsp salt
- ½ Tsp ground pepper
Place the beans in large bowl. Cover with water and soak overnight at room temperature. Add water, as needed, so that the beans are always
covered. Rinse and drain. In a slow cooker, combine all the ingredients. Cook for 8 to 9 hours on low, or about six hours on high. Adjust the seasoning. Credit: RicardoCuisine.com
