The 2014 annual meeting of MPANS will be held on Saturday January 18th, 2014 at the usual venue – Riverview Room, Jenkins Hall, Dalhousie University Faculty of Agriculture campus in Bible Hill. Registration ($25/person which includes lunch) will begin at 9 A.M. At this time, producers will have the opportunity to pay their 2014 MPANS dues.
The morning program, which will begin at 9:45, will include the MPANS business meeting, committee reports, a presentation by the Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture, and the introduction of Dr. David Gray, Dean and Principal of Dalhousie University Faculty of Agriculture. Lunch will be in the cafeteria adjacent to our meeting room.
After lunch, Dr. Robert Johns, Forestry Entomologist with the Atlantic Forestry Centre in Fredericton will give a presentation on the insects that in 2013 defoliated some of the maple woods in Nova Scotia; Dr. Raj Lada will report on results of the NSERC – Engage project; and we will hear an update of the Climate Change project.
We hope to adjourn the meeting by 3:30 P.M. or shortly thereafter so people can leave for home at a decent hour.
Put the MPANS AGM on your calendars now. We hope to see you in Bible Hill on January 18th. Spread the word to your neighbouring producers. Encourage them to attend the AGM and to become member of MPANS.
Enjoy wonderful Holidays.
